GERMANY TOUR 2025

Boulder Rugby Football Club is making history! For the first time ever the Babes, Men, and Old Boys are taking our game overseas TOGETHER—and we want YOU to be part of it.

We're headed to Germany & Switzerland for an unforgettable tour featuring matches for our Babes, Men, and Old Boys against top clubs who are rolling out the red carpet for us.

The host clubs in Freiburg, Basel, and Konstanz are going all out to welcome BRFC, and we'll be gathering in our host cities the night before each match for pregame camaraderie.
This is more than a tour—it's a once-in-a-lifetime rugby adventure. Whether you're playing, supporting, or just soaking in the culture, this is your chance to be part of BRFC history.

Glad you'll be joining us! Please fill out this form to let us know more about your travel plans.

What airport should I fly in and out of?
Most people are flying to Zurich or Basel, Switzerland.
-
Zurich, Switzerland has lots of flight options from the US, with multiple daily trains to Freiburg im Breisgau (2 hours) and Konstanz (1 hour 15 minutes).
-
Basel, Switzerland has fewer flight options from the US, with multiple daily trains to Freiburg im Breisgau (45 minutes) and Konstanz (2.5 hours).
Where should I stay? Do I need to book my own hotel?
Yes, you are responsible for booking your own hotels; we don't have any official team blocks of reservations. We recommend booking a hotel in the city center of each location. Any hotel that's within 15 minutes walking distance of the main train station (the hauptbanhof) is perfect. Some places where club members are staying:
-
Friedrich Boutique-Apartments in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany
-
Hotel Rochat in Basel, Switzerland
-
Hotel Alte Post in Konstanz, Germany
I don't play rugby anymore/I never played. Can I still come on tour?
Absolutely! Everyone is welcome.

Can I bring my friends/family/spouse/children?
Yes! Bringing friends and family on tour is encouraged. Just give us a head count so our host cities know how many people to expect!

How much does it cost?
We don't have the official tour costs finalized yet. Right now, it's most important to book your flights and reserve your hotel rooms, which will be the largest expense of the trip.

How many matches are there, and when are they?
Three confirmed matches: the first on Saturday, Sep. 20 in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, the second on Thursday, Sep. 25 in Basel, Switzerland, and the third on Saturday, Sep. 27 in Konstanz, Germany. With the exception of Basel, there will be three matches each time, one each for Babes, Men, and Old Boys (the Basel match is a casual evening game featuring a combined Old Boys/Men's team side).

What's the best way to get around? Should I rent a car?
That's up to you. The train system in Germany is wonderful and will likely be all you need for getting from city to city. We recommend booking a hotel within walking distance of the city center, which will also reduce the need for a car. Note we are NOT renting a bus for the team.

What's the itinerary? Are there planned group activities every day of the tour?
There are planned matches and activities with our hosts on the weekends. Group activities during the middle of the week are optional. Feel free to join a group of people or plan your own excursion. Join the conversation on our WhatsApp group to learn more or share your plans! Email tour@boulderrugby.com for the link.
Who else is coming?
Multiple members of the Babes, Men, and Old Boys teams are committed. Join our tour WhatsApp group to learn more! Email tour@boulderrugby.com for the link.
